Pee Wee AA team continues its winning ways
The Jr. Tiger Pee Wee AA team continued its winning ways, winning the President’s Day Cup in the AAA division. This is the team’s fourth major tournament championship of the season (Silver Sticks qualifier, Littleton’s Thanksgiving, and the Colorado Cup)! The team posted an undefeated record, going 4-0-1. In the five games, the Jr. Tigers tied the Idaho Steelheads (28th nationally ranked AA team), and beat the Northwest Admirals, the Phoenix Firebirds, Arvada (48th nationally), and then the Dallas Ice Jets 5-2 in the championship game. This final was particularly impressive because the Ice Jets are a AAA team out of Dallas! The closest game was a 4-3 win over a tough Arvada squad, with Jonathan Valtin scoring the winning goal in overtime.

The Tigers outscored their opponents 28 - 12, with a shots-on-goal advantage of 103 - 74. Along with their 28 goals, the Tigers recorded 28 assists. Ty Pochipinski was the Tiger’s top point scorer, registering 10 over the five games. Three other players contributed 7 points. It was once again a true team effort, with each of the 13 skaters registering at least 1 point. In net, Jeremy Hamerquist had 1 win and a tie, and Samir Rezgui had 3 wins.

Congrats to the entire team and coaching staff for another superb tournament!
